My biggest hesitation with the home buying process was having to gamble every day with interest rate locking. Veterans United was able to work with the Texas VLB program however- we ended up with a great rate, and the guesswork being taken out by the nature of the program and our loan officer's excellent understanding of the turbulent financial market really let us move forward with confidence. We wouldn't have closed on this house without Veterans United's help!
I am still disappointed about the mistake made by the underwriting team. I was informed by Ryan and Kelly that my first payment would not be due until May 1. However, at closing, the closing documents reflected an April 1 due date. When I inquired about this discrepancy, Ryan informed me that if I wanted the date corrected, I would have to wait until the next day to close. My wife and I had already adjusted our work schedules to accommodate the planned closing date, and if we had chosen not to sign the documents with the incorrect first payment date, we would have had to wait an additional four days to close.Aside from this issue, my wife and I had a great experience working with the loan team, and we appreciate their efforts throughout the process.
Ryan, Chad, and Kelly at the Veteran's United office in Austin made our home buying experience easy and pleasant. Usually getting the loan is the hardest part in buying a house but with this team, getting the loan was the easiest. We're recommending them to all our veteran friends. Great job Ryan, Chad and Kelly!!!
