Ryan, Chad, and Kelly at the Veteran's United office in Austin made our home buying experience easy and pleasant. Usually getting the loan is the hardest part in buying a house but with this team, getting the loan was the easiest. We're recommending them to all our veteran friends. Great job Ryan, Chad and Kelly!!!
We ended up closing 6 days late because although the well and septic inspections were on the loan estimate I did not notice them. Monday (before we were due to close on Tuesday) was told that I needed them by 5pm (that same day) if we wanted to close on Tuesday. Now mind you the PEST Inspection was on my TODO list (I submitted it by the 19th) but the well and septic inspections were not. Yes, I know I should have realized it was on the loan estimate. If anyone had mentioned it on Friday I could have had them done by Monday & we could have closed on time. Can anyone tell me WHY only the pest inspection was on the TODO list well prior to the original closing date, when all 3 were on the loan estimate? When I didn't see it on my TODO list, I didn't think about it. And so we closed late. Up until this I had been very happy with Veterans United. I really liked the TODO list. Too bad if didn't include Well & septic on my required inspections.

Veterans United is a great organization and I will definitely be using them again in the future when I am purchasing properties. They "walked the dog" with me every step of the way and were very on point with all of their updates. Never once did I feel like I was asking a "stupid question" when I would call and talk with them. Would HIGHLY recommend using Veterans United to anyone looking at buying property/real estate.
Overall the process was great. The team got me a preapproval letter quickly allowing us to get an offer in quickly on our new home. Only issue was some confusion on closing costs initially, but that was remedied quickly. I would recommend providing customers suggestions on how to reduce closing costs early in the process.
I spent years building my credit and getting money together. When the time was right and I was ready to buy a home, Veterans United was ready to help. Even though it felt like a lot to do, it all actually went pretty smooth. Every time I called with questions they were happy to answer them and sometimes I called back to back. They really came through for me and I appreciate everything they’ve done. Thanks VU. 🤙🏻
